Posture: With increased flexibility and strength comes better posture. With the practice of yoga, people become more aware of their body, knowing more quickly when they are slouching or slumping and consequently knowing when to adjust their posture.
Breathing: Because of the deep breathing exercises that involve yoga, lung capacity often improves. Most forms of yoga emphasize deepening and lengthening of your breath.
Less Stress: Even beginners tend to feel less stressed and more relaxed after their first class. With regular yoga practice, the deep meditation and breathing techniques help the mind become calmer.
